Pham Xuan Binh On \(F\)-discrete distributions. (English) Zbl 0923.60017 Acta Math. Vietnam. 23, No. 2, 247-256 (1998). The aim of the paper is to investigate a new family of discrete distributions, called \(F\)-discrete distributions. The new distribution is proved to be similar to the well-known \(F\)-distribution (Fisher-Snedecor distribution) in the continuous case. A probabilistic model that generates the \(F\)-discrete distributions is given, and a recursion formula for their moments is provided. Some limit theorems are also proved, showing that Poisson and Pascal distributions can be obtained under certain conditions.
