[The articles of this volume will not be indexed individually.]
The conference proceedings is subdivided into three volumes which altogether include some 130 papers on several different engineering and mathematical topics. Here one can find the latest developments and advanced future trends in the boundary element technique, with particular emphasis on consistent mathematical formulations applied to many engineering problems. The proceedings also present industrial applications of the technique, providing a useful link between BE researchers and practical engineers working for industry.
Volume 1 (Mathematical and computational aspects) is concentrated on the pure mathematical and numerical features of boundary elements; including convergence and error estimates, coupling the technique with other methods and existing software applications to industrial problems. Volume 2 (Stress analysis applications) discusses mainly linear and nonlinear elasticity problems; comprising plates and shells, fracture mechanics, nonlinear mechanics, contact problems, shape optimization and design sensitivity, fluid-structure interaction and different engineering applications. Volume 3 (Fluid flow and potential applications) is devoted to acustics, dynamic problems, heat transfer and diffusion, porous media flow, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics and electromagnetic problems.
The books are of great interest to boundary element practitioners, industrial users and researchers seeking an up-to-date view of the state of the art in boundary elements.
