Estimation of the optimum relaxation factors in partial factorization iterative methods. (English) Zbl 0767.65025
A new method is presented for estimating the optimal relaxation factors in both single and double successive overrelaxation processes. The theoretical results are applied for the solution of large-scale sparse linear systems arising in the difference approximation of elliptic partial differential equations.
