The numerical solution of large systems of stiff IVPs for ODEs. (English) Zbl 0852.65057
The numerical solution of large systems of initial value problems (IVPs) for ordinary differential equations (ODEs) is investigated. These systems are stiff and very large and are obtained by the application of the method of lines to a system of time-dependent partial differential equations. The author investigates the recent developments on numerical methods and computer codes for IVPs for ODEs for this kind of problems.
