Robust output tracking using a sliding-mode controller/observer scheme. (English) Zbl 0858.93019
A controller/observer pair is proposed using sliding mode ideas, which provides robust output tracking of a reference signal using only measured output information. Asymptotic tracking is achieved subject to matched uncertainty acting on the nominal linear plant. It is shown that the controller and the observer can be designed independently apart from a scalar function of the uncertainty bounds.
