Sheskin, David J. Handbook of parametric and nonparametric statistical procedures. 4th ed. (English) Zbl 1118.62001 Boca Raton, FL: Chapman & Hall/CRC (ISBN 1-58488-814-8/hbk). xxx, 1736. (2007). This fourth edition of the “Handbook of Parametric and Nonparametric Statistical Procedures” [for the review of the first edition from 1997 see Zbl 0861.62001, and for the third edition from 2004 see Zbl 1038.62002] has expanded its size by over 500 pages. New to the Fourth Edition are multivariate statistical methods. Multiple regression, Hotelling’s T2, MANOVA, MANCOVA, discriminant analysis, canonical correlation, logistic regression, and principal components/factor analysis are now dealt with. An intoductory section also presents basic matrix algebra. The organisation of the material of this edition follows the same lines as the previous ones. This is most significantly seen by the organizing the materials through “Tests” instead by chapters. This shows that the main focus remains testing. The many facets of multivariate methods are not discussed, but only questions concerning tests. Reviewer: R.
