Malaspina, A. On the traction problem in mechanics. (English) Zbl 1166.74004 Arch. Mech. 57, No. 6, 479-491 (2005). Summary: We show how to solve the traction problem for the Lamé and Stokes systems by means of a double layer potential. In this way, we complete the results of [Rend. Accad. Naz. Sci. XL, Mem. Mat. Appl. (5) 19, 25–42 (1995; Zbl 0946.35108)], where A. Cialdea and G. L. Hsiao, employing a method introduced by A. Cialdea in [Rend. Accad. Naz. Sci. Detta XL, V. Ser. 12, No. 1, 181–200 (1988; Zbl 0676.35017)], solve the Dirichlet problem for Lamé and Stokes systems by means of a simple layer potential.
