Duff, Iain S. The solution of nearly symmetric sparse linear equations. (English) Zbl 0557.65015 Computing methods in applied sciences and engineering VI, Proc. 6th Int. Symp., Versailles 1983, 57-74 (1984). [For the entire collection see Zbl 0547.00045.] Solution methods for linear sparse systems of equations are considered when the coefficient matrix is either symmetric in structure or is completely unsymmetric. Direct methods employing special pivoting strategies and some bared on frontal approaches are described. Iterative methods which include pre-conditioned Lanczos and conjugate gradients and techniques based on Chebyshev accelerations are discussed.
