Simpler polynomial solutions in control and filtering. (English) Zbl 0635.93018

V. Kučera’s [Discrete linear control. The polynomial equation approach (1979; Zbl 0432.93001)] completely algebraic method is used to derive a polynomial solution with only one Diophantine equation for least-squares deterministic control in discrete-time. The same method is used, again involving only one Diophantine equation, to derive the multivariable discrete-time Wiener filter.
