Queues with negative arrivals. (English) Zbl 0744.60110

This paper discusses single server FIFO queueing models with two types of arrivals — regular and negative. A negative arrival is one who removes a regular customer from the system without service. Two cases have been considered — in the first case a negative arrival removes the customer (if any) in service while in the second case a negative arrival removes the most recently arrived customer. Authors have given necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique steady-state distribution of queue length for such models. This paper is interested and useful in view of its practical applications.
