The rule induction system LERS – a version for personal computers. (English) Zbl 0806.68089

Summary: This paper describes the system LERS (Learning from Examples based on Rough Sets), a version for personal computers, which induces a set of rules from a decision table and classifies new examples using the set of rules induced previously by the system. The system may quantize numeric values of attributes and may handle two kinds of uncertainty: missing values of attributes and inconsistent examples. LERS handles inconsistencies using rough set theory.
