Practical quantum mechanics. Translated from the German. Reprint of the 1994 edition, originally published as Vol. 177 and 178 of Grundlehren der Mathematischen Wissenschaften, 1971. (English) Zbl 0934.81001

Classics in Mathematics. Berlin: Springer (ISBN 978-3-540-65035-5/pbk; 978-3-642-61995-3/ebook). xv, 331 p., 287 p. (1999).
In 1991 the author wrote the new and much enlarged edition of his successful book “Rechenmethoden der Quantentheorie” in English. This is now a reprint of the second printing of 1994 manifesting the continuous success of this collection of 219 carefully solved problems which is very helpful for students and scientists. More than half of the problems deal with one non-relativistic particle without spin. Then spin is included and many (two, three, few, very many) particles are considered. Finally the relativistic Dirac equation and (as an example of field quantization) radiation theory are treated. What is constantly needed about special functions can be found in a short appendix.
