D. Cvijović and J. Klinowski [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 123, 1527-1535 (1995; Zbl 0827.11012)] expressed Bernoulli and Euler polynomials as finite sums involving the Hurwitz zeta-function. This paper presents new proofs which are not only shorter but also lead to generalizations and analogues.
