Efficient and reliable a posteriori error estimators for elliptic obstacle problems. (English) Zbl 0992.65073

The author derives a posteriori error estimators for linear finite element approximations to elliptic obstacle problems. These estimators yield global upper and lower bounds for the discretization error.
