Two-dimensional isentropic irrotational steady supersonic flow around a convex bend and convex corner. (Chinese. English summary) Zbl 1438.76024

Summary: A simple wave flow around a convex bend or corner is one of the most important elementary flows. In this paper, we study how the two-dimensional (2D) isentropic irrotational steady supersonic flow turns around a convex bend and corner. Based on the result in the literature, we theoretically prove that the supersonic flow turns around a convex bend or a convex corner by a rarefaction wave or a compression wave. In addition, we give the conditions for the appearance of vacuum or sonic state.
