Control strategy research about the rabies model with incubation period. (Chinese. English summary) Zbl 1463.34210

Summary: An SEIR rabies model including populations of dog and human is established in this paper. The virus infectiousness of dogs during the incubation period is discussed. Genetic algorithm is used to fit the human rabies data from 1996 to 2015 in China and the basic reproduction number is estimated. Global stability of the disease-free equilibrium point and uniformly persistence of the model are proved. According to the numerical simulation results, we find that the incubation period dog is a big threat to human rabies and the main method is to control and reduce the contact with the dog. The study provides a theoretical basis for controlling the rabies in China.
