Arlettaz, Dominique Algebraic \(K\)-theory of rings from a topological viewpoint. (English) Zbl 0956.19003 Publ. Mat., Barc. 44, No. 1, 3-84 (2000). This paper is an exposition of the algebraic \(K\)-theory of rings from a classical topological point of view. It contains useful summaries of the work of the author and others on the Hurewicz homomorphism and \(k\)-invariants for the algebraic \(K\)-theory spaces. The fundamental theorems of the subject and recent advances such as Voevodsky’s proof of the Milnor conjecture are mentioned, and the displayed homotopy theoretic techniques are used to draw consequences of these results.
