From 1703 until his death in 1705, Jacob Bernoulli, who was in the process of writing his book Ars Conjectandi, exchanged a number of letters with Leibniz which referred to this work. This rally is shown here in French with passages from other letters from L’Hôpital, Johann Bernoulli, and Leibniz, which allow us to place in context the intercourse between Jacob Bernoulli and Leibniz about the art of conjecturing.
