Beijing Inst. Technol. 30, No. 8, 1005-1008 (2010). Summary: A new method of start-up demonstration tests is introduced as an alternative and extension to previous ones. A probabilistic analysis of the tests in the case of independent and identical distributions is made using a finite Markov chain imbedding approach. A numerical example provides some promising results. The results show that the new method overcomes the limitation of old ones.
