Pair fluctuations in ultra-small Fermi systems within self-consistent RPA at finite temperature. (English) Zbl 1151.82345

The authors develop and apply a self-consistent version of the thermal random phase approximation to the many level pairing model. They compare their results with the exact ones calculated for the Grand Canonical Ensemble. They claim that their formalism has certain advantages over alternative approximations. Various related results are also presented.
