Sparsing in real time simulation. (English) Zbl 1032.65089

In modelling mechatronical systems one often ends up with large, very stiff differential-algebraic equations which are neither treatable explicitly nor implicitly as far as real time simulation is concerned. The authors propose manipulations of the Jacobian only in selected parts in order to exploit the sparsity structure.
