The authors maintain that discerning objects in a theory is an essential problem. Starting from this point of view, they try to build a concept of indistinguishability. The proposal is presented in mathematical language and originates in assuming a previous equality. The proposal is intended to shed a common light on problems arising in various fields such as probability theory, logic and social sciences.
