This (paperback/clothbound) reprint of the 1964 classic work comes in proper time to introduce another generation of scientists and engineers to the field of nonlinear oscillations. As a rule the author starts from a well-structured problem - quite often related to an electrical system - and developes approximate procedures which show the overall behavior, clarifies specific phenomena and supports the estimates by analog computations. All results are represented in figures which appeal to and support intuition. Terminology has changed since the first printing (”chaos” is hidden in almost periodic oscillations, chapt. 11) and the advances of numerical techniques and accuracy are overwhelming but many of the questions posed by the author still require research and deep thought.
