Totally ramified valuations on finite-dimensional division algebras. (English) Zbl 0626.16005

D sei eine n-dimensionale Divisionsalgebra über seinem Zentrum F und v eine invariante Bewertung auf D. Es sei \(\Gamma_ D\) die Wertegruppe von v und \(\Gamma_ F\) die der Restriktion \(v| F\). Ist \(G=\Gamma_ D/\Gamma_ F\) die relative Wertegruppe, so heißt v total verzweigt, wenn \(| G| =n\) ist. Ein wichtiges Hilfsmittel bei der Untersuchung ist folgendes Lemma: Ist D/F total verzweigt und zahm (d.h. die Charakteristik des Restklassenkörpers \(\bar F\) teilt nicht n), so existiert eine nicht ausgeartete symplektische Paarung \(C: G\times G\to \bar F^{\times}\). Hieraus ergibt sich, daß der Restklassenkörper die \(\ell\)-ten Einheitswurzeln enthält, \(\ell =Exponent G\), und daß G die Form \(H\times H\) hat, wobei H eine abelsche Gruppe ist. Außerdem folgt aus dem Lemma eine Darstellung von D als Tensorprodukt von Symbolalgebren, wenn D eine Armatur im Sinne von Tignol besitzt. Hierbei ergeben sich die Ordnungen der Symbolalgebren aus den Elementarteilern von H. Das Hauptergebnis ist der folgende Satz: Ist D/F total verzweigt und zahm und ist F bezüglich v henselsch, so gibt es eine Bijektion zwischen den Isomorphieklassen der F-Unteralgebren A von D und den Untergruppen \(\Gamma_ A/\Gamma_ F\) von G. Hierbei entspricht dem Zentralisator von A der Annullator von \(\Gamma_ A/\Gamma_ F\) bezüglich der Paarung C. Dieser Satz verallgemeinert ein Ergebnis von J.-P. Tignol und S. A. Amitsur [Isr. J. Math. 50, 114-144 (1985; Zbl 0564.16015), Satz 4.2]. Auf dem Satz beruht ein Verfahren, den Schurschen Körper gewisser zentral-einfacher Algebren zu bestimmen. Anwendung findet diese Theorie bewerteter Divisionsalgebren bei der Konstruktion von Beispielen. Unter anderem wird gezeigt, daß das Tensorprodukt zweier Divisionsalgebren mit dem Zentrum F keine Divisionsalgebra sein muß, selbst wenn sie keine isomorphen kommutativen Teilkörper \(\neq F\) besitzen.
