This paper gives a lucid description of recent developments in superstring field theory. The main ideas and techniques, along with limitations are clearly indicated. Final comments hint at the important questions which should be answered for the theory to be successful. The developments discussed include a brief description of the theory, anomaly cancellation, low-energy effective theory and dimensional compactification.
