This paper is a complete survey on the theory of minimal models for \(n\)-dimensional varieties: the main tools and the recent results are described and the open problems are stated. A particular attention is paid to the “flip conjecture”, which turns out to be a crucial step in order to give a classification for \(n\)-dimensional varieties.
This paper is also supplied with useful and complete references on this subject.
