Carter, Thomas E. New form for the optimal rendezvous equations near a Keplerian orbit. (English) Zbl 0702.49027 J. Guid. Control Dyn. 13, No. 1, 183-186 (1990). This paper presents a new form of the general solution of equations of motion of a spacecraft near an object in arbitrary Keplerian orbit. This solution avoids the removable singularities found in some earlier papers by replacing Lawden’s integral by another integral without singularities. Except in the evaluation of this integral which takes three distinct forms, the solution is identical for all noncircular Keplerian orbits.
