Orlov, V. N. Analytical solutions in optimal control of cyclic heat transfer processes. (English) Zbl 0726.49016 Syst. Sci. 15, No. 1, 91-102 (1989). Summary: Optimal control problems related to the maximization of the effectiveness of the irreversible Carnot heat engine are considered. These problems are reduced by changing the control parameter to averaged optimization problems. Their equivalence is studied. The method proposed for solving the averaged problems, based on sufficient conditions of optimality, makes it possible to solve analytically all the problems considered.
