Bielak, J.; MacCamy, R. C. Symmetric finite element and boundary integral coupling methods for fluid-solid interaction. (English) Zbl 0731.76043 Q. Appl. Math. 49, No. 1, 107-119 (1991). A theoretical investigation of the formulation for a numerical procedure for the interaction of an inhomogeneous body with a compressible inviscid homogeneous fluid is presented. For the fluid part a boundary integral method is applied, for the body a Galerkin method is used. The coupling conditions then lead to a problem that must be solved only for the body.
