## Calmness and exact penalization.(English)Zbl 0734.90090

The equivalence between calmness and the exact penalization technique of Eremin-Zangwill type is established for constrained optimization problems. It was also shown that the calmness used in the paper is equivalent to the one given by Clarke under continuity and that the calmness is satisfied on a dense subset of the domain of the optimal value function. Typing error: on page 494, line 21, $$\alpha$$ $$dist(g(x)| C+\bar u)$$ should he read as $$\alpha$$ $$dom(g(x)| C+\bar u)$$.
