Applied multivariate statistical analysis. 3rd ed. (English) Zbl 0745.62050

Prentice-Hall International Editions. Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice Hall. xiv, 642 p. (1992).
From the preface: Users of the previous editions (for the first edition see Zbl 0499.62001) will notice that we have added and updated some examples and exercises, added some additional real-data sets, and completely rewritten the chapter on discrimination and classification. In addition, we have expanded our discussions of the effects of multivariate outliers, added some material on graphical displays of multivariate data, and shortened or deleted some of the longer mathematical proofs. It will be apparent that we have not included a complete listing of the more extensive data sets familiar to users of the first and second editions of this book. The full data sets are now available as ASCII files on personal computer disks. This should allow easy interface with existing statistical software packages and provide more convenient hands-on data analysis opportunities.
