The sequential quadratic programming method which is considered as the most efficient method in structural reliability calculation is reviewed with special reference to possible problems. It is then specialized for reliability calculations in the standard space. Certain simplifications and modifications are introduced resulting in a new multi-constraint algorithm. It can also be used in time-variant problems with little modification.
