Pseudorandom numbers and quasirandom points. (English) Zbl 0796.11028
This is a useful survey on recent developments in the theory of pseudorandom numbers. After short comments concerning linear congruential generators the author discusses nonlinear methods, especially the inverse congruential generator. The final sections are devoted to pseudorandom vector generation and quasirandom points. The usefulness of applying the theory of formal Laurent series is indicated.
