Chung, Kun-Jen; Ting, Pin-Shou A heuristic for replenishment of deteriorating items with a linear trend in demand. (English) Zbl 0797.90016 J. Oper. Res. Soc. 44, No. 12, 1235-1241 (1993). Summary: The classical no-shortage inventory policy is examined for the case of deteriorating items having a deterministic demand pattern with a linear (positive) trend. A heuristic model is developed to determine the optimal times for inventory replenishment whether or not a planning horizon exists. Some numerical examples are given.
