We describe an original local mesh refinement technique based on a multigrid architecture on nested subdomains. We next present numerical results on natural convection inside a square cavity induced by a horizontal temperature gradient. The computations are performed for steady flows up to Rayleigh number \(10^7\), and they are compared to reference solutions.
