# zbMATH — the first resource for mathematics

A note on the diophantine equation $$\binom x4 = \binom y2$$. (English) Zbl 0856.11019
All integer solutions $$(x, y)$$ to the equation of the title are $$(x, y)= (4, 2)$$, $$(6,6)$$ and $$(10,21)$$. The author points out that this problem has also been solved independently by B. M. M. de Weger [Q. J. Math., Oxf. II. Ser. 47, No. 186, 221-231 (1996)].
