Partial decoupling for noninvertible mappings. (English) Zbl 0869.39009
Summary: In an arbitrary complete metric space a theorem on simplification of a continuous noninvertible mapping by means of a topological transformation is proved. It is assumed that the given mapping admits an invariant set. In particular, the conjecture of B. Aulbach and B. M. Garay [Z. Angew. Math. Phys. 45, No. 4, 505-542 (1994; Zbl 0813.47075)] in its general form is solved.
