Haar wavelet method for solving lumped and distributed-parameter systems. (English) Zbl 0880.93014

The authors present the operational matrix of integration for Haar wavelets and study its application in the analysis of systems described by ordinary and partial differential equations. Using this technique, that can be interpreted as a multiresolution one, rough or accurate solutions can be obtained simply by changing the number of Haar functions used in the approximations. The paper contains several examples showing the capabilities of the proposed method.
