Problems in low-dimensional topology. (Edited by Rob Kirby). (English) Zbl 0888.57014
Kazez, William H. (ed.), Geometric topology. 1993 Georgia international topology conference, August 2–13, 1993, Athens, GA, USA. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society. AMS/IP Stud. Adv. Math. 2(pt.2), 35-473 (1997).
This new problem list, extending older problem lists by the same author, gives a broad overview over the ‘status quo’ of research in the area of low-dimensional topology. On more than 300 pages problems together with remarks, definitions and bibliographical references are given, organized in the following chapters: (1.) Knot theory; (2.) Surfaces; (3.) 3-manifolds; (4.) 4-manifolds; (5.) Miscellany.
The paper also contains an index of conjectures, a general index and an extensive bibliography.
For the entire collection see [Zbl 0882.00041].
