Ackleh, Azmy S.; Ito, Kazufumi An implicit finite difference scheme for the nonlinear size-structured population model. (English) Zbl 0897.35006 Numer. Funct. Anal. Optimization 18, No. 9-10, 865-884 (1997). The authors develop an implicit finite difference scheme to approximate the solution of the “fully nonlinear” size structured population model. The convergence of this approximation to a unique bounded variational solution of this nonlinear partial differential equation is obtained. Numerical results to an example problem are reported.
