Asymptotic stability in a fourth order delay differential equation. (English) Zbl 0902.34065

Using Lyapunov functionals sufficient asymptotic conditions are established for the uniform asymptotic stability of the zero solution to the following fourth-order delay differential equation \[ x^{(4)}(t)+e(t,x(t),\dot x(t),\ddot x(t),x^{(3)}(t)) x^{(3)}(t)+f(t,\ddot x(t-\tau))+ g(t,\dot x(t-\tau))+h(x(t-\tau))=0 \]
