Criticality eigenvalues of the one-speed transport equation with strong forward-backward scattering - relationship with rod model. (English) Zbl 0913.45003
The authors consider a special case of the time-independent neutron transport equation in one spatial dimension. Under certain simplifying assumptions, some analytical solutions of the discrete forms of this equation are obtained, and the results are compared with the authors’ earlier numerical results [the authors and N. S. Garis, ‘Criticality and time eigenvalues for one-speed neutrons in a slab with forward and backward scattering’, J. Phys. D 25, No. 10, 1381-1389 (1992)].
