Inselberg, Alfred Visual data mining with parallel coordinates. (English) Zbl 0922.62006 Comput. Stat. 13, No. 1, 47-64 (1998). A technique of multidimensional data analysis using parallel coordinates is described. In this technique a data vector of each case is represented by a line plot as if it was a time series. The plots for all the cases are plotted simultaneously at one sheet. The investigator can analyze visual patterns of data choosing and brushing some subsets of the cases. Some of such patterns are described for real data on the VLIST chip production and on macroeconomic indicators of a particular country.
