A Reynolds equation derived from the micropolar Navier-Stokes system. (English) Zbl 1007.35080
Salvi, Rodolfo (ed.), The Navier-Stokes equations: theory and numerical methods. Proceedings of the international conference, Varenna, Lecco, Italy, 2000. New York, NY: Marcel Dekker. Lect. Notes Pure Appl. Math. 223, 1-18 (2002).
The author considers a stationary flow of viscous micropolar fluid which models the motion of suspension of solid particles in a fluid. The governing equations are studied in a thin film (lubrication approximation), for which the author proves existence, uniqueness and regularity of limit solution as the film thickness goes to 0.
