Summary: We consider the concept of reiterated homogenization, introduced on the physical level by D. A. G. Bruggeman in the 30’s [Ann. Phys. 24, 634 (1935)] and justified mathematically by A. Bensoussan, J.-L. Lions and P. C. Papanicolaou [Asymptotic analysis for periodic structures, North Holland, Amsterdam (1978; Zbl 0404.35001)]. We present and discuss some recent developments of this theory and also give some applications to linear and nonlinear problems.
For the entire collection see [Zbl 0996.00036].
