Global attractivity in an RBC survival model of Wazewska and Lasota. (English) Zbl 1022.92008
Summary: We obtain a condition for the positive equilibrium to be a global attractor of the survival model of red blood cells proposed by M. Wazewska and A. Lasota [Math. Stos. 6, 23-40 (Polish) (1976)]. Our technique is novel in the sense that a pair of nonlinear equations is utilized, and our results improve earlier results of M. R. Kulenovic et al. [Comput. Math. Appl. 18, 925-928 (1989; Zbl 0686.92019)] and J. Li [J. Biomath. 9, 91-95 (1994; Zbl 0817.34046)].
