Stability analysis of switched systems with stable and unstable subsystems: An average dwell time approach. (English) Zbl 1022.93043

The authors study some stability properties of linear switched systems composed of both Hurwitz stable and unstable subsystems by using the average dwell time approach. They obtain results under a class of switching laws where the average dwell time is sufficiently large and the total activation time of the unstable subsystems is relatively small compared with that of the Hurwtiz stable subsystems. They also apply the results to perturbed switched systems where nonlinear vanishing norm-bounded perturbations exists in the subsystems.
