Functoriality in intersection theory and a conjecture of Cox, Katz, and Lee. (English) Zbl 1078.14535

Summary: A functoriality property of the virtual fundamental class on the moduli space of stable maps is proven. The property is used to supply a proof of a conjecture of D. A. Cox, S. Katz and Y.-P. Lee [in: Advances in algebraic geometry motivated by physics. Proc. AMS spec. sess. Lowell, 2000, Contemp. Math. 276, 157–166 (2001; Zbl 1065.14014)].
