A generalized variational principle in micromorphic thermoelasticity. (English) Zbl 1091.74012
Summary: Recently L. Nappa [ibid. 28, No. 4, 405–412 (2001; Zbl 1090.74563)] obtained a Gurtin-type variational principle for micromorphic thermoelasticity. However, the use of convolutions was restricted to the linear case, which sets a limit to the range of applicability. This paper establishes a classical variational principle for the discussed problem by the semi-inverse method.
