Modelling of turbulent flow and multi-phase heat transfer under electromagnetic force. (English) Zbl 1131.76055
Summary: We develop a mathematical model and numerical technique to study the coupled turbulent flow and heat transfer process in continuous steel casting under an electromagnetic force. The complete set of field equations is solved numerically. We examine the influence of the electromagnetic field on flow patterns of molten steel, on the temperature field and on the steel solidification.
